During the 2013-14 academic year, Indiana State University embarked upon a project involving the development of Student Enrollment and Success Plans at the academic department level. The process was unique in two respects. First, few institutions engage in coordinated planning at the departmental level, something we felt was important to advance support for the University's most important asset, our students, and that aligns with the campus-wide Pathways to Success Strategic Plan. Second, the plans addressed four important elements of the student experience--enrollment, retention, completion, and post-college achievement.
At their August 27, 2015 Board of Trustees meeting, the Board indicated that student success/graduation was their #1 priority for the University and requested that a piece of that effort involve updates to academic department student success plans.
