November 7, 2011 -- To date this group has met twice.The first meeting was to provide an overview of the utility and operations budget and to review prior initiatives resulting in cost containment.The subcommittee is meeting weekly and has developed a work plan for each week to discuss possible initiatives related to the reduction of energy consumption, operations maintenance of physical facilities, and better utilization of existing space.The scope of this subcommittee has been expanded to include potential administrative services cost savings.

November 14, 2011 -- The Facilities Affordability Subcommittee had its third meeting this past Friday (November 11).The group reviewed its previous discussion regarding recommendations to reduce energy consumption and began conversations concerning cost controls on the operation and maintenance of physical facilities.The next meeting will be Nov. 22 where the discussion regarding the operation and maintenance of physical facilities will continue followed by a discussion of ways to reduce administrative costs.
